JPG to JXL Converter is a Windows utility for people who want to convert jpg to jxl locally, with no upload and no account.

how it works

It uses the jSquash library to turn JPG images into JXL files on your Windows PC. The conversion runs on your device, so your images stay local from start to finish.

paste from clipboard

Press Ctrl+V to drop an image from the clipboard straight into the queue. If you grab a screenshot with Win+Shift+S, you can paste it in and convert it without saving the capture first.

batch conversion

Convert a whole folder of images in one run. Folder structure is kept on the output side, so a nested set of images stays organized after conversion.

auto-convert watcher

Use the Auto-convert page to choose a watched folder and an output folder. Leave the app in the Windows system tray, then drop new images into the watch folder and let the app convert them in the background.

right-click in explorer

A native shell extension adds Convert to JXL to the right-click menu for .jpg images in File Explorer. The app opens with your selection already loaded, so this is a quick entry point rather than a background task.
