the short version
Your files never leave your device. Conversion happens in your browser. We have no servers that process your files — we couldn't access them even if we wanted to.
what we collect
- Aggregate analytics:we count page views, referrers, and rough country to understand which converters are popular. We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider that doesn't set cookies or track individuals.
- Technical errors:if a conversion fails, we may log the error type (e.g. "OOM" or "unsupported codec") but never the file content.

- Your files (we never see them)
- Identifying cookies
- Email addresses (we have no signup)
third parties
We use Vercel for hosting and may use a privacy-respecting analytics provider. We do not share data with advertisers.
If you buy a paid product from us, the order is processed by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing details it needs to take the payment, issue your invoice and apply the correct tax — typically your name, email address, billing country and payment method. Paddle is the controller of that data and handles it under its own privacy policy; we see only what we need to support your purchase and honour a refund. Your files are never part of this: they stay on your device whether you have paid for anything or not.
our desktop apps
The same policy applies to our Windows apps from the Microsoft Store (File Converter and the WeConvert converter family). All conversion runs locally on your PC — the apps never upload your files and contain no telemetry or analytics of any kind.
- Licences: if you buy a Pro licence, our licensing service stores your purchase email and an anonymous, one-way device identifier (a salted hash — it cannot be turned back into anything about your PC) so your licence activates on your devices and survives reinstalls.
- Promotional content: the apps may fetch a small promotional banner and offer page from our servers. These are plain content downloads — no personal data or file information is sent with them.
- Microsoft Store purchases: purchases made inside a Store app are processed by Microsoft under its own terms; we only receive the licence state, never your payment details.
