Convert gif to webp on Windows with a simple local app for turning GIF images into WEBP images.

how it works

GIF to WEBP Converter uses ffmpeg.wasm, so conversion runs on your Windows device. Your images are processed locally and stay on your PC from start to finish.

paste from clipboard

Press Ctrl+V to add a GIF image from the clipboard straight into the queue. If you use Win+Shift+S, the screenshot can land in the queue without being saved first.

batch conversion

Convert whole folders of images in one run. Folder structure is kept on the output side, so a folder with subfolders comes through in the same shape.

auto-convert watcher

Set a watched folder and an output folder in the Auto-convert page. Keep the app in the Windows system tray, drop new images into the watched folder, and the converted copies appear in the output folder in the background.

Use the File Explorer context menu to send .gif images to the app with Convert to WEBP. It opens with your selection already loaded, so you can start from the desktop workflow you already use.
